Amber Grant: 2013 ALAQHA President
I have
been in the horse world for a long time. As a kid, I tried a number of
different events from barrel racing, to cutting, to breakaway roping,
and finally to my true passion of western pleasure. I bought Ladmore, my
first registered quarter horse, at around 16. Ladmore was an All Around
Gelding that taught me alot about horsemanship! I showed in showmanship,
hunter hunter saddle, hunt seat equitation, western pleasure, western
horsemanship, trail, and western riding. I had to sell Ladmore to go to
college and was out of horse showing for about three years. This past
year, with the help of Kyle Grant, I was able to lease Hot Lopin Radical
to show in the Novice division. I had a wonderful first year back in the
show ring, and it feels GREAT to be showing again! I look forward to the
challenges and experiences this upcoming year will bring. I am honored
to serve as the Amateur Vice President this year and hope to see you all
at the show pen!

"After owning horses for
most of my adult life, we purchased the AQHA stallion Gold Futures by
Goldseeker Bars and concentrated on breeding and promoting his get in
the Southeast. We purchased Sonny Dee Bar mares to further our
breeding program in Western Pleasure. After we sold Gold Futures
we bred our mares to AQHA Champions and raised many Champions and
Futurity winners. My family and I own and operate Whippoorwill
Hill Quarter Horses in Deatsville, AL. We successfully competed with Mr Be My
Daddy in 2004/2005 in AQHA and PHBA to three World Champion
halter titles. I am working with my two nephews to show in
ALQHA Leadline. I am honored and look
forward to serving on the ALAQHA Board." |
