AQHA CELEBRATES 10 YEARS ON THE TRAIL!

Since 1997, more than 50,000 riders have traveled through scenic canyons, ridden across snowcapped mountains and strolled horseback along sunny beaches through AQHA's Ride Program.

As a way to encourage recreational riders and recognize those participants who attend more than one trail ride a year, AQHA introduced the Frequent Rider Card a passport to be presented at each ride attended. With the PASSPQRT, AQHA embers can earn awards by attending numerous AQHA trail rides in one season. Attend the most Rides in 2008 and earn a Tex Tan saddle. Get your PASSPQRT at any AQHA Ride.

AQHA's Ride Program is an international series of trail rides that welcomes horses of all breeds and riders of all disciplines to celebrate the joys of horseback riding. The Ride Program benefits local charities as well as the American Quarter Horse Foundation, a charitable organization that provides scholarships, preserves the heritage of the American Quarter Horse and raises important dollars for equine research and youth scholarships.

Join the Alabama Quarter Horse Association (ALQHA) and qualify for a year end award by logging the most hours riding on a Registered American Quarter Horse or an All Breed horse.  Any organized ride qualifies with proof of registration and participation in all ALQHA Trail Rides.

Final date to qualify for 2008 awards is December 31, 2008

FREQUENT RIDER CARD

As a way to encourage recreational riders and recognize those participants who attend more than one trail ride a year, AQHA has introduced the Frequent Rider Card a passport to be presented at each ride attended. With the PASSPQRT, AQHA members can earn awards by attending numerous AQHA trail rides in one season.

Awards will be given in five-ride increments. The rider who attends the most trail rides during the 2006 Ride season also will receive a Tex Tan saddle.(If there's a tie for the award, it will be broken randomly.)

Thank you to everyone who started on their PASSPQRT Frequent Rider Card. To date, 43 AQHA members have reached the first level of five rides. In addition, 17 members have attended ten rides.

AQHA members who are also enrolled in AQHA's Horseback Riding Program will continue to earn double hours on all AQHA-approved trail rides.
