Julia Caro

Julia Caro:  2005 ALAQHA President
"My family has always owned Quarter horses.  I was fortunate to live close to some of the first people to raise Quarter horses in Alabama.  I showed my first Quarter horse at age ten.  Along with the Halter and Western Pleasure horses, I've also shown Cutting horses in NCHA events for over 12 years.  I have been able to raise my own show horses for the last 10 or 12 years which I show in Western Pleasure and Pattern classes.  Since joining the Alabama Amateur QHA, I have met some of the most interesting and fun people.  The Association has provided the opportunity to meet new people who all share the same love for the Quarter horse."

Larry Mann

Larry Mann: 2005 ALAQHA Vice President
"After having horses for most of my life, the past eight years have been focused on showing and breeding.  My family and I own and operate Magnolia Hill Farm in Wetumpka, AL where we stand the PHBA/NSBA World Champion stallion, Alla That Solo.  After successfully competing in halter events in 2003, I am enjoying every minute of showing in the Western Pleasure division with my new horse Ima Classy Shocker.  My wife Connie and I are enjoying taking our four year old grandson, Cory (Spiderman) to the shows and letting him show in lead line.  We are also looking forward to the beginning of Cory's little brother, T.J.'s show career this year.  T.J. is 3 years old and it will be a handful having both of them compete in leadline this year.  I am also very honored to be elected V.P. for ALAQHA and a board member for ALQHA and very excited at the future outlook for open and amateur and hope to assist in making both ALQHA and ALAQHA bigger and better in 2005.  I encourage any member to contact me at any time with their thoughts and comments.

Amy Black

Amy Black:  2004 ALAQHA Secretary/Treasurer
"Amy Black is an eight year member of the ALAQHA.  She showed in Western Pleasure from 1995-2003.  She is currently expanding her horizons by learning new classes.  These include Hunt Seat, Hunt Seat Equitation, Horsemanship, and Showmanship.  She has earned one Superior in Western Pleasure, multiple ROM's in Western Pleasure, and several year end awards in the past.  Amy really enjoys the friendships she has made throughout the years at the horse shows and looks forward to meeting new people each year.

Deborah Bush - 2004 ALAQHA Vice President

Deborah Bush
"My husband and I raise, bred and train our own horses at our Hickory Hill Farms in Alabaster, Alabama.  We have stood our stallion Lucky Lucky Zip for twelve years and have been committed to showing only the offspring of our stallion.  I have enjoyed competing in AQHA in the Hunter Under Saddle classes as well as Western Pleasure and look forward to developing my skills in in Showmanship.  I have two new horses to show this year, a three year old filly, Zips Elegant Charm and a two year old, Graceful Impulsions.  I look forward to getting these two horses in the ring and hopefully once again qualifying for this year's Amateur Select World Championship show.  See you at the shows!"

Beverly Davis and Mr Be My Daddy

Beverly Davis
"After owning horses for most of my adult life, we purchased the AQHA stallion Gold Futures by Goldseeker Bars and concentrated on breeding and promoting his get in the Southeast.  We purchased Sonny Dee Bar mares to further our breeding program in Western Pleasure.  After we sold Gold Futures we bred our mares to AQHA Champions and raised many Champions and Futurity winners.  My family and I own and operate Whippoorwill Hill Quarter Horses in Deatsville, AL and raise Western Pleasure and Halter prospects.  After successfully competing in Halter events in 2004, I am enjoying every minute of showing my PHBA World Champion mare, Mr Be My Daddy, in the AQHA Halter classes.  I am honored and look forward to serving on the ALAQHA Board."

Sharon Ensor - 2004 ALAQHA President

Sharon Ensor
"I have been showing horses since the age of 8.  Served on Congress and Youth World teams.  Qualified several horses for the AQHA World Show.   Worked as an Asset Manager for AIG Baker Management, L.L.C..  Manages eleven shopping centers around the country from Florida up the East Coast to New Jersey."

Trish Harmon
"I started showing at the age of 11 in our neighborhood saddle club.  My racking horse won Reserve Champion and I was hooked on showing!  In my twenties, I started riding Quarter horses in Open shows in Western Pleasure.  I had always wanted to show AQHA but was told that the "water was too deep".  I moved to Huntsville three years ago, bought a Hunt Seat horse and boarded at a barn right down the street from Priceville Arena.  Everyone at that barn showed AQHA, so I took the plunge last year.  It was the most fun and I met the nicest people at the Alabama shows.  I look forward to a wonderful, successful 2005 season for everyone involved in ALQHA this year!
