Hello Everyone!
We hope your horse show season has begun and you are off to a winning
start!!!
It was good to see the newcomers and the "ole" faithful at the SLE show
in March. the show was successful despite all the wind.
Hopefully, you were able to patronize the horse show in Decatur on march
25-27. also, make plans to go to Andalusia for the Youth
fundraising show on April 1-3.
ALAQHA is still hard at work on our show June 3-5, 2005. Please
come and support your association but most of all enjoy showing your
horse. We are planning extras at that show beginning with a
western pleasure clinic on Saturday, June 4, being conducted by Steve
Tidwell of Tidwell Training Center in Tallassee, Alabama. Steve
has trained World Champions and numerous point earners in halter and
western pleasure. He is also a consultant for the Auburn
Equestrian Team.
On Saturday, June 4, there will be a team tournament during the show
with prizes for the Champion and Reserve Champion teams.
In addition to the horse show, we will be conducting a silent auction
with all sorts of goodies you will be interested in purchasing.
Officers and Board members are selling raffle tickets for the gas
grill/ice chest combo or a Big Horn work saddle. The first ticket
drawn will have the choice of either prize and the second ticket holder
will get the leftovers. Please support your association by
purchasing tickets which are $5.00 per ticket or five tickets for
$20.00. The drawing will be held on Sunday, June 5.
We are short of announcers for the show. If any of you out there
can help us out, we will appreciate it very much. We will also
need help with the gate and setting up jumps, trail obstacles, etc.
If you are asked, please do what you can. After all, this is your
show and your organization.
Don't forget the hunter under saddle clinic with Beth and matt Goutthro
in Autaugaville, Alabama at the Kirkpatrick Arena on October 29, 2005.
